Yesterday, GPD and GFD were dispatched to Grapevine Lake, where a Tesla Cybertruck was stranded in the water. The driver drove into the lake to use the “Wade Mode” feature when the vehicle became disabled. The passengers abandoned the vehicle and the driver was arrested.

GPD busted a major DFW auto theft ring. Stolen vehicle parts linked to 30 vehicles, VIN-swapped vehicles, stolen firearms and cash were recovered; an estimated total value of $1.6M. Five suspects were charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity/Property Theft > $300K.

Grapevine Police Department is continuing its investigation at Grapevine High School. Any staff and students remaining on campus have been evacuated.
This afternoon, shortly after dismissal, a written bomb threat was found in one of the restrooms on campus. As a precaution, Grapevine High School has been evacuated. Grapevine Police Department was immediately notified and is responding to the campus to investigate.

SH-121 Northbound at the I-635 split is currently closed due to a vehicle accident. Due to a diesel fuel leak, this is a hazmat situation. All traffic is being diverted to Eastbound SH-114. Drivers are to expect delays for an extensive period while cleanup is underway.

HIGHWAY CLOSURE Our officers responded to an 18-wheeler crash on W 114 EB. Due to the icy conditions, the incident resulted in a multi-vehicle crash. Fortunately, there are no injuries to report. This has resulted in the full shutdown of the highway for at least 2 hours.
