GlobalFoundries is going to be the first company to make silicon that supports a new open standard called OCI MSA. This standard lets AI data centers easily connect GPUs from different companies like Nvidia, AMD and others. The silicon production could start as early as 2027. Big players including Meta, Microsoft, OpenAI, Nvidia and AMD are backing this. It helps build a flexible supply chain and reduces the risk of GPU shortages. This is a big opportunity for India. Our data centers are growing fast with companies like Reliance and Adani. Open standards mean cheaper and faster AI infrastructure. GlobalFoundries already has a design center in Kolkata and is looking at more work in India. It fits perfectly with the India Semiconductor Mission and Atmanirbhar Bharat. This could bring more jobs, technology transfer and help India become a real player in the global AI chip supply chain.
