We call it Earth. This is an ocean world. More than 70% of our planet’s surface is ocean, and it absorbs around 90% of the excess heat generated by global warming (IPCC). #Oceans #ClimateCrisis #Earthday2026

Today, in the Anglican Cycle of Prayer, we pray for Igreja Anglicana de Moçambique e Angola and the Most Revd Vicente Msosa, Primate and Bishop of Zambezia Missionary Diocese. Let us pray for: 🙏 Leadership and ministry across dioceses and missionary dioceses – for bishops, clergy and lay leaders serving in diverse and often challenging contexts, that they may be sustained in faithful service. 🙏 Education, health and community development – giving thanks for ministries supporting communities through schools, healthcare and local initiatives, especially in areas affected by poverty. 🙏 Peace and stability in communities – particularly in regions affected by conflict or insecurity, that the Church may be a source of reconciliation, hope and practical support. 🙏 Young people and future generations – that the Church may nurture faith, leadership and opportunity among young people across Mozambique and Angola. Amen

Anglicans joined with other faith groups and organisations at the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA) in Nairobi to advocate for sustainable change to protect and restore the planet. Continuing under the banner of the Lungs of the Earth call to advocacy and action that ran throughout COP30 in November 2025, Anglicans persevere in supporting these vital ecosystems. As the world grapples on its climate commitments, faith voices are rising, calling for justice, equity, and energy solutions that uplift people and heal the planet. A Just Energy Transition will only succeed when faith communities are at the center of the movement. #UNEA7
