Acts of genocide are not a thing of the past, far less racism and hatred. Please therefore join this online Holocaust Memorial Day event on Sunday Jan 18th, hosted by the Jewish Greens. We are one of the co-sponsors. actionnetwork.org/events/hol…

The Guardian are reporting a significant increase in Jewish people voting for the Green Party. It's almost like many of us grew up learning a history of persecution & violence. We don't oppose the Genocide in spite of being Jewish but because of it. Never again for everyone.

There are many contenders for what will be this Labour Government’s Poll Tax but this Bill is going to do so much harm it ought to suffer the same fate. #TakingThePIP

For the first time, the official Judicial Attitudes Survey asked judges about faith. The results show Muslims are three times less likely to serve on the bench — and more likely to face bullying, harassment and discrimination. Read @sajeraj’s piece→hyphenonline.com/2025/05/27/…

Nigel Farage wants attention for *saying* he’d scrap the 2-child benefit cap. But in the vote against it, did he show up? No. Zero Reform MPs voted against the cap in July. Green MPs put it in our costed manifesto, signed the motion, and voted to scrap it. Actions not words.

Today was the first day of the Report Stage of the Assisted Dying Bill. I believe the Bill has been strengthened through 90 hours of scrutiny, and I support giving terminally ill people the choice to die with dignity. Hoping for a compassionate debate and successful vote in June.

I have heard from many people in Brighton Pavilion about assisted dying, and their messages and stories have touched me deeply. We must create the best, most compassionate Bill, and this is what I said in today’s serious and detailed debate:

These events remind us of what a farce it is that we have bishops and archbishops voting in the UK Parliament in the first place. No other democracy on Earth appoints religious clerics as of right to vote in their sovereign parliament. Sign here: humanists.uk/action/get-bish… 👈
The most awkward, contradictory, and emotionally complex picture of the Lords Spiritual. Perhaps the defining image of the 105th Archbishop of Canterbury? Southwark, Lichfield, St Albans, Manchester, <slight gap> Guildford. London <front row>

Very significant step forward for the important and sensitive issue of permitting assisted dying in England and Wales. The Bill was supported at its second reading today by all GPEW MPs.
Results of the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill vote at Second Reading are in: 330 AYE 275 NO For the first time in history, British MPs have voted in favour of the principle of assisted dying. Now follows months of line-by-line scrutiny at Committee Stage.
