The Guardian are reporting a significant increase in Jewish people voting for the Green Party.
It's almost like many of us grew up learning a history of persecution & violence.
We don't oppose the Genocide in spite of being Jewish but because of it.
Never again for everyone.
ALT The report said the increase in green party support suggested "for a significant minority of Jews, domestic priorities and progressive values outweigh foreign policy concerns."
Tears. Hugs. Relief. This vote meant everything. Thank you to everyone who has supported the Bill, and our campaign for compassion, choice, and dignity. #AssistedDyingBill.
BREAKING: MPs vote to legalise assisted dying in England and Wales. The #AssistedDyingBill will now proceed to the House of Lords. A landmark victory for compassion, dignity, and choice.
The Assisted Dying Bill has passed its Third Reading in the Commons. We’re in Parliament Square celebrating this step forward for compassion and dignity
There are many contenders for what will be this Labour Government’s Poll Tax but this Bill is going to do so much harm it ought to suffer the same fate. #TakingThePIP

For the first time, the official Judicial Attitudes Survey asked judges about faith.
The results show Muslims are three times less likely to serve on the bench — and more likely to face bullying, harassment and discrimination.

Nigel Farage wants attention for *saying* he’d scrap the 2-child benefit cap. But in the vote against it, did he show up?
No. Zero Reform MPs voted against the cap in July.
Green MPs put it in our costed manifesto, signed the motion, and voted to scrap it. Actions not words.
ALT Screenshot of an amendment to the King's Speech, voted on 23 July 2024. The Amendment is to abolish the two-child benefit cap and is signed by all four Green MPs.
Today was the first day of the Report Stage of the Assisted Dying Bill. I believe the Bill has been strengthened through 90 hours of scrutiny, and I support giving terminally ill people the choice to die with dignity. Hoping for a compassionate debate and successful vote in June.
I have heard from many people in Brighton Pavilion about assisted dying, and their messages and stories have touched me deeply.
We must create the best, most compassionate Bill, and this is what I said in today’s serious and detailed debate:
On the evening of May 22nd, we are hosting an online talk about assisted dying from national assisted dying campaigner, @NathanStilwell. It is sensitive and highly pertinent debate that our speaker is well placed to explore. To register, please visit: tinyurl.com/assisted-dying-t…

Fantastic news! The publication of the Children's Wellbeing Bill confirms that government action to shut down illegal religious schools is now very much on its way
This marks the culmination of years of campaigning from us to draw attention to the problem humanists.uk/2024/12/17/huma…
ALT Humanism in a nutshell. 1) Putting human beings and opther living things at the centre of your moral outlook. 2) seeing the world as a natural place and looking science and raeson to make sense of it. 3) Promoting and supporting human flourishing across all frontiers and championing human rights for everyone.
These events remind us of what a farce it is that we have bishops and archbishops voting in the UK Parliament in the first place.
No other democracy on Earth appoints religious clerics as of right to vote in their sovereign parliament.

Very significant step forward for the important and sensitive issue of permitting assisted dying in England and Wales. The Bill was supported at its second reading today by all GPEW MPs.

Now follows months of line-by-line scrutiny at Committee Stage.
We’re at a Parliament Square rally in support of the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill, ahead of its 2nd Reading later.
