We’re butterflying with Greenwingers in Serbia, Romania, Croatia, Greece, and Bulgaria. Groups of like-minded, nature-loving folk, all having a great time and learning together is what it’s all about!

Apparently, it's all the rage in Croatia to adorn ones hat with a Two-tailed Pasha! 🦋 Letting the butterflies come to us instead of chasing around ticking a list is the best way to enjoy a place & brings its own rewards like this 😎

Another fantastic day on the 'Butterflies of Northern Greece', with some very special butterflies seen, including Lesser Fiery Copper, Map, Yellow-banded Skipper and Blue Argus; hard to choose a favourite given all we've seen. What a wonderful part of the world!

Two's company, three's a crowd, four's a ... ??!! This mating pair of Black-veined White, photographed on the tour of Northern Greece, were photobombed by not one, but two males that were both trying to disrupt events! 📸 Peter Eeles

Crimson Speckled (Utetheisa pulchella). Saw several today & it is a moth colourful enough to distract me from what was my main quarry, which was Loew's Blue butterflies - more on those later!

This time last year Lake Kerkini in northern Greece... Our @Greenwings group is out there now enjoying the same sights and sounds. I know they'll be loving it as much as I always do there. A special place I've been visiting since 2013 & will never stop going back to.
