Rhododendron nuttallii. One of the largest flowers, & very fragrant, tho with decidedly musky overtones (like a barn). Probably pollenated by big subtropical moths. Foothills of eastern Himalaya at modest altitudes; fairly tender. @GregBourke3 grows them.

Despite how obvious this spider is to us, many insects see the world differently, and to some, this one is almost indistinguishable from the surrounding flowers. #nature #spider #deceitful

One of my all-time favorite Guatemalan shrubs—Monochaetum floribundum! 🌿✨ This little beauty thrives in the misty, humid forests of the mountains, where its delicate, four-petaled white flowers bloom in a spectacular show. 🌸 While its blossoms don’t last long, the arching branches of this small shrub create a stunning display when in full bloom. 🌳💫 Perfect for gardeners looking to embrace native species, it’s a great addition for any garden within its native range from Mexico to Panama! 🌎 #NativeGardening #TropicalBeauty #GuatemalaNature #FloralWonder #GardenInspiration #MountainMagic #flowers #herbs #nature #plants #botany #flora #forest #meadow #wildflowers #guatemala #flores #hierbas #naturaleza #plantas #botanica #bosque #pradera #floressilvestres #melastomataceae #monochaetum #white #guatemala #eltular

Cymbidium sauve (Grass-leaf Cymbidium / snake orchid) at Corunna, NSW. Flowering was a little reduced this year with very little spring rainfall at Corunna but the few plants still out enjoyed some rare moisture from an afternoon storm passing thru today #orchids #ozplants
