Rhododendron nuttallii. One of the largest flowers, & very fragrant, tho with decidedly musky overtones (like a barn). Probably pollenated by big subtropical moths. Foothills of eastern Himalaya at modest altitudes; fairly tender. @GregBourke3 grows them.
Our new species, " Bellevalia iranica Alipour, Eker & Majidi", which we wrote together with my colleagues Dr. Ismail Eker and Ramiar Majidi from the Zagros Mountains of Iran has entered the scientific literature as of today.
