Congrats to The Knicks... Huge win and amazing comeback Is it just me, or does it bother anyone else when the announcers say the Knicks are "World Champions?" They are not world champions They are NBA champions If Carolina beats Vegas tonight, are they World Champions in Hockey? 😆

As luck would have it, Kelly and I were on our way through Toronto today... so why not a pit stop in Toronto to catch Canada World Cup Soccer excitement! Not inside the stadium, instead, outside the stadium. The vibe downtown is fun! Go Canada!! (Surprised how many Bosnia jerseys there are too) Decided on a bar to take in the action!

The 411 on Hawaiian beaches. The beaches of Hawaii are the most beautiful ones I've ever seen. The sand. The lava built island. The waves. The beaches are unique. 1.No smoking on the beaches. 2. Leave the sand behind. You're not allowed to remove the sand (or rocks) The sand colour comes in white, black, red and green. 3. Check your sunscreen. Hawaii banned sunscreens containing oxybenzone and octinoxate to protect coral reefs. 4. Marine Life Distance Rules: You must stay at least 10 feet away from sea turtles (unless they swim into you (lol) and 50 feet away from Hawaiian monk seals (150 feet if a mother has a pup). They can be aggressive. We saw one on Poipu Beach. 5. Legal sand rights. In Hawaii, the public beach boundary is defined by the high vegetation line. In Canada (most of the time) dry sand can be private, but for Hawaii a larger portion of the sand belongs to the public, preventing exclusive private beachfronts and for us..... Incredible exploring.

Hawaii and Sea turtles. (The Green Sea Turtle) If you love Turtles, Kaua'i is known for them. Honu (turtle in Hawaiian) are commonly found on the South and North shores. (We visited both) The best times to see them are May through September during nesting season, with the best time late afternoon/sunset. We visited Poipu Beach Park: Brennecke’s Beach.... and turtles started arriving on the beach to rest. There could be up to 30 of them by the end of the day! You can literally swim with them (one of them ran into Maxx while he was in the water) They have volunteers to assist in keeping humans away from them while on land, (up to 10 ft) and everyone is very respectful. We are staying in Princeville/Hanalei Area) We're headed to Anini Beach: Known for a long, shallow reef where snorkeling allows for spotting many turtles, aftwr ma a visit to Turtle Cove a less-crowded spot. They are mesmerizing. 4-5 feet long and weigh approx 300lbs. Beautiful creatures. ❤️ 🐢

Day 5 on Kaua'i Island (Hawaii) My travel tips - A five-million-year-old island, formed volcanically. (No current lava flows here right now) ...however on the Big Island, there is some ash clouds currently from a lava flow happening. Not visible from where we are. Kauai'i is one of the wettest spots on earth, (but we've found lots of sun near the beaches) and the island is affectionately called the Garden Island. Very green and lush inland, and not very populated. (75,000 people on the entire island) We visited The Waimea Canyon State Park. At three thousand ft deep, Waimea Canyon is often called "The Grand Canyon of the Pacific". The hiking here is spectacular. Definitely plan those in advance. Some require reservations. Amazing adventure so far. Sea Turtles tomorrow? @gohawaii @gohawaiica

Its a week of rest, relaxing and family time. We started giving the kids an experience instead of gifts at Christmas. This is family Christmas trip number #18. Its a gift for them (and really Kelly and I) Now that our kids are older (28 and 22) that we can all organize our schedules to travel together is the best thing. It's their gift, but we get the presents. ❤️ The trip is a little extra special this year, with some major accomplishments at home. The kids had to endure a lot of late nights, and Dad working time during the years of my Radio work. This week (and the Christmas Trips) are a way for all of us to reconnect and spend some quality time together. Hello Hawaii. The island of Kauai. Love these guys.

An amazing night with the Rotary Club. The District is holding their Conference this weekend in CK. You'll be seeing hundreds of Rotarians in our community. Today they are heading out to all parts of our community Dresden, Blenheim, Tilbury, Chatham, Ridgetown (where Rotary clubs are located) to do - Park Clean-ups, Stocking food bank shelves and Planting trees. The weekend kicked off with Michael Landsberg from TSN and "Off the Record" Michael hosting Canada's longest lasting talk show. (18 years) and told his story of Mental Health and Suicide. He held the room in silence with his story. An amazing night. Kudos Rotary. 'Service above Self'

A fun day helping out with family and friends supporting Children's Treatment Centre and Foundation of Chatham-Kent and the smile cookie making..... every cookie has its own little personality (Just like every child who walks through the door at CTC) Cookies are on sale this week only at Tim Hortons stores. 100% of the purchase of these cookies goes to support charities in our community. Special thanks to the owners of the Tim Hortons stores across Canada who give back millions of dollars to our local charities with the sale of these cookies. #ItsGoodToGive @TimHortons

This was a great week of giving. We completed our gifts to the charities from the Indoor Car Show in March. Over $10,000 in food and cash donations to 5 charities. ❤️ BTW - Our radio team is just the messenger. You and The Chatham Auto Dealers are the real stars of these gifts. A good reminder, that the more you shop in CK, the more our local businesses can give back to our charities, service groups, schools and sports teams. It really is a domino effect. Thanks for your support and attending the Auto show. #Shoplocal

Thank you to Indian Creek Road public school for the invite to come out to the school to be a part of their mystery Reader Program I'm honoured to be included on this wall of fame that they have set up outside the classroom for those that have come to read to the kids. (what a great idea) The Kindergarten class had amazing questions that included -my favorite travel destinations -favorite things I like to do -my job -did my kids go to this school -and what it's like to read to so many kids every year.❤️ Thanks Mrs Garrowchath

My heart is heavy. We lost a radio guy (in the middle of this photo) My thoughts are with family and friends who will be missing his footprint he left on our lives. Ike Erickson was the best. He was instrumental in my career... 1. My first day on the job in 1988 at CKSY, Ike handed me the keys to the CKSY Van and said "make sure this is clean and get it washed please." His lesson, we all pitch in around here, and multi task. Team effort. 2. In 1989, Ike went to the GM at CKSY and said, "Why don't we give this Hetherington kid a try at mornings on air?" I dont know what Ike saw in me, but thanks to his push, I Started my run as a morning show host in CK. It lasted 35 years. Faith. 3. The year...I dont recall. (Too many to mention) I was making a few mistakes..... A late arrival to work at 5am occasionally, some bad choices on air... and management was considering letting me go. Ike went to bat for me. "He's 22 years old, give him a chance to grow into the role" They kept me. Give second chances to your people. See how they respond. He always had my back. I owe you more Ike than you'll ever know. I look forward to our next get together. ❤️
