Peak Covid, ministers could go down any day and hold up the running of the country. It was wise to have a contingency. Did Scomo actually ever lie about this? Good business in my opinion.
Big difference between lying about secret ministries, facts, and stats versus changing policy direction, goals, and forecasts.
The right and media need more than one neuron to understand the definition of a lie.
Deception is distorting what is or has been.
A promise, a goal, a forecast not met—a lie? No.
Changing direction based on current circumstances and not doggedly sticking to arbitrary campaign talking points from years ago, is that a lie? No.
The emotional intelligence of the media and some voters leads me to think we have become ungovernable.
At least for the rest of us, the pragmatic, progressive realists know that governing and reform take brains and strength to do what is right, not always what is popular.
Otherwise, what is the point of power if it's not spent for the betterment of all?
