Here is the last 800m of the trial - a typically relaxed Marketplace through the early and middle stages but his acceleration late was sensational.

Marketplace ticks the first box in his Australian campaign with a 1.50.1 trial win at Menangle just now.
Replay to come however he recorded a finishing half of 53.5seconds - 27.5 and 26.0
He is now due to race next Saturday night at Menangle over 2300 metres.

Colin Berry, the NZ photographer who took one of racing’s most amazing pics, died on the weekend. He took this incredible photo of the 1961 NZ Free-For-All being run while the Addington grandstand burned down 50m away, Colin was a wonderful bloke and his images will live on.
