Our lab is a group of marine scientists, lead by Dr Paul Gribben, working in a range of areas from fundamental ecology to habitat restoration and conservation.
PhD opportunity looking at the role of #microbes and genetics in mediating #seagrass response to environmental stress. Join our friendly, multidisciplinary lab! unsw.edu.au/research/cmsi/st…
Another intense but successful field day! 🌱🌊 Sampled the first time point of the ‘big’ experiment. 840 tubes were filled, 360 #seagrass plants were clipped and bagged, and lots of snacks were eaten. Many thanks again to @katie_erick, @LDAW12 and Julia Hammans! 🌊
What a good looking group of scientists! We had a fantastic time at our Oyster Reef ARC Linkage Workshop - wonderful to hear from students and partners at TNC and DPI about all the research we have achieved over the past three years🎉🎉
Earth Optimism Series #7: A little bit from each of our team about who we are, and what we're positive about with regards to conservation and the environment, next up is our President @renske_jongen !
Offi-shell-ly graduated with a PhD. 🦪😅 Big thanks to my blood & research fam @unswbees, @unswcmsi, @GribbenLab & @DR_GRIB for coming to my graduation day! 🎓👨🎓
Exciting to get out into the seagrass and do some sampling of Zostera and Halophila sp. last week! Bodyboards can be so useful..
Thanks @katie_erick@Renske_Jongen@orlamckibbin@HannahEWesley Dana Lanceman & Luke Walker for field help, and @DR_GRIB @ZiggyMarzinelli Tim Glasby!
@joseelhart and I went searching for Zostera and Halophila at Lake Macquarie - and found both! We also found the perfect sunny lunch spot😎
@DR_GRIB @ZiggyMarzinelli
The Gribben Lab does it better... thanks everyone for a wonderful lab retreat in #Kioloa! Sadly missing a couple of lab members, but all the reason to do it again soon 🦀🐬🏄
Really happy and grateful to be the winner of this award. Thank you @EcolSocAus and looking forward to talk about #seagrass at the conference in October! 🌊🌱
Had a great time in the field last week testing some sampling methods for my PhD looking at the influence of bioturbation on sediment functioning in restored salt marsh @GribbenLab @AnjGopakumar @katie_erick@joseelhart
Our new experiment is out at @SydneyMarine! Previously we found variation in #sargassum frond size controlled it’s value as predation refuge for epifauna. Now we’re testing for the universality of this relationship using 3D printed algae mimics @GribbenLab@UNSWScience@unswcmsi
