I have an idea for a football video game I could realistically make: a roguelike where you are thrown into a gauntlet of random situations, say 4th and 15, and you complete mini games on one side of the screen while the other side shows a visual representation of the football gameplay.
You get 1 point for every successful challenge in the gauntlet. If you lose, it ends, and your final score is 1x the amount of levels you completed. In between levels you can use a currency you earn to buy upgrades, think Jokers in Balatro.
It would be free with no microtransactions to prove a point. No ads either. Just a free mobile football roguelike made for the love of the game.
There would be skins you can unlock only with in game earned currency, likely the final score number accumulating.
I'm still workshopping the idea and building a demo, but I think it's a fun concept that could be really addicting, despite obviously not being a true football simulation which is way more difficult to develop.
I'd probably just call it "SOFTDRINK FOOTBALL".
