Fall, leaves, fall; die, flowers, away Lengthen night and shorten day Every leaf speaks bliss to me Fluttering from the Autumn tree I shall smile when wreaths of snow Blossom where the roses should grow I shall sing when nights decay Ushers in a drearier day 🍁🍁Emily Bronte🍁🍁

Yesterday we visited @StAugsCPS to meet their new Eco Team and present them with a £1000 cheque towards their Woodland Retreat project which they won via our 'Go Green' scheme. We can't wait to see the end result! @GroOrganicUK 🌼🌳🐝

Can you see why dryad's saddle fungus is nicknamed 'Pheasant's Back'? Its scaly top is thought to resemble the feather pattern of a pheasant! This mighty bracket fungus can grow to enormous sizes and would you believe it smells of watermelon! Certainly a fantastic fungus!

Isn't it incredible that all of these are acorns! See if you can find some of these explosive growths for yourself the next time you pass an oak tree! They are knopper galls, ridged outgrowths which form when a knopper gall wasp lays its egg in the developing acorns! Amazing!
