Memphis mom’s split-second decision may have saved a 3-year-old’s life.
Jabril Walls was driving home after dropping her own kids off at school when she spotted a tiny girl wandering alone in the middle of a busy street in Frayser.
Without hesitation, she pulled over, positioned her car to shield the child from traffic, opened her arms — and the frightened little girl ran straight to her saying she wanted mommy and daddy.
Walls and her grandmother sprang into action. Using the toddler’s clues (a gray-and-white house, shoes left behind), they searched nearby homes, then took her to the fire station and called police.
Thankfully, the girl was safely reunited with her loving family. Walls believes it was just an innocent accident and is now staying in touch — she’s even been invited to the child’s birthday party and named her unofficial godmother.
“It takes a village,” Walls said. “Thank God I was there at the right time.”
A beautiful reminder that one caring person can make all the difference!
