As it should be. The public pays for this work.
BREAKING: White House issues new policy that will require, by 2026, all federally-funded research results to be freely available to public without delay, ending longstanding ability of journals to paywall results for up to 1 year. Coverage coming on @ScienceInsider.

PLEASE read this amazing thread about the Alliance A021501 trial. Don’t take the lazy interpretation about the role of radiation👇🏼
The Alliance A021501 trial has landed! First- I’d like to congratulate the authors for conducting this study. Fantastic trial concept, and the rigorous review of eligibility and SBRT QA was exceptional So much to unpack... Let’s dive in! 🧵🧵🧵 pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3583… 1/

Good example of how apparently sound math can misinform. This individual is trying to make the point that COVID vaccination increases hospitalizations. They note that 50.8% of OK is vaccinated (actually 57.7%) 🧵

Applying the same approach, we can be more specific: Fully vaxxed: 87.5% protection Partially vaxxed: no protection
1
So the same data are interpreted as a) don't get vaxxed or b) get BIG vaxxed. The correct answer is (b) This virus sucks and seems to be with us for awhile. Anything we can do to take the teeth out of it is a good thing.

I think the waivers that airlines have received on the requirement for carrying epinephrine auto injectors in their emergency medical kits needs to stop now (it’s been six years running). The cost effectiveness analysis on EAIs has been done & published: aaaai.org/About/News/News/fl…

Only if meds there one of my slides for @ACAAI presentation on topic

This👇 But also: a dept is what it is. Everyone promises the flaws will improve. Optimism is important, but counting on that to happen is very risky.
Advice for graduating #radonc residents: Find the perfect junior faculty/practice environment for you, your family, your clinical work and your science. If you get the sense a place is “toxic”, avoid it. @ARRO_org
