I'm so glad I didn't dismiss Turkey vs Australia and stayed up to watch it. That was so good. Turkey played so well but Australia's defense... damn.

Fable feels like a polish freelancer. Shows up, speaks in its own dialect, writes the best code you've ever seen, and then disappears

I can't believe the US put fucking ads in the middle of a half. That's so embarrassing

Boston is full of Scottish people right now, it's pretty cool
I love the World Cup what do you mean Scottish football fans in kilts are lined up for fried chicken at the Downtown Crossing Raising Cane’s before 11 a.m.

Has Anthropic tried renaming their models to "Bear Arms"

Just got impressed by @WisprFlow. It knew how to type useEffect and useState, and put them in back ticks. This is the kind of thing where I've felt like I could build my own STT server with open source models but this is the type of thing that would be a pain to get right.

I'll be honest this is weirdly at odds with the second amendment
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…

Oh is that why I didn't have fable access all of a sudden

If you don't want ads in the middle of the game, watch the Telemundo broadcast.

This has been my Fable test. I asked to make me a game of a dog sniffing around the streets of Back Bay Boston, basing it on real map data and building structures (that I asked it to research). It's not oneshot, it's taken some steering tbh. I started it this morning and this is the recording like 12 hours later. There are a lot of glitchy issues that I've asked it to clean up. I've been running it on xhigh. overall I think the fidelity to the real back bay map is cool. I wish it did a better job with the structures.

I gave it a reference image, saying that I want it to look like this. I don't think that's something it can one-shot, it's going to take a lot of steering IMO.

hmmm, so I'm having Claude Code with Fable fix some e2e tests. As good as it might be, using Claude Claude (either because of the API or the reasoning) is really slow compared to Codex. I set Fable to fix some stuff and had a meeting, and when I came back it was still not done. Codex would have already fixed it.

My first impression of Fable is that it's a lot better at making use of less expensive subagents to do the work. It's even running e2e tests with haiku. Nice

I'm gonna assume that Codex is going to come out with a model with similar capabilities and that it'll be included in the monthly plans.

You have Claude Fable for only a few days. Here's how to make the most of it. Introducing /improve: use your most capable model to audit your codebase and write plans for cheaper models to execute later. Studies your code, figures out bugs, perf, tech debt, missing tests, what to build and writes plans any agent can run.

Alex is a really smart guy
Claude Code bills climbing and you’re not sure why? It’s rarely the model. It’s usually the harness and context. Want a free tool that surfaces the real waste? DMs are open.
