We had a lot of fun getting into the holiday spirit yesterday afternoon. Our friends @slccurb joined us for some wreath making fun and friendly (maybe) competition. Zoe and Christina (of Science Barge and Community Adaptation fame) shared first prize!! And we had empanadas!
"Though I do not believe that a plant will spring up where no seed has been, I have great faith in a seed. Convince me that you have a seed there, and I am prepared to expect wonders." Thank you for planting seeds with us. We wish you all the best for a very Happy Thanksgiving.
Now that The Science Barge is closed down for the winter, our favorite fertilizing fish are back in the office. Vander and Donk happily hopped (well not really hopped-they had some help) into a bucket and took the short trip up Van der Donk Park to settle into their winter home.
Today is National STEM Day! These amazing Yonkers Public High School students have been conducting research on the barge for 5 months and are an inspiration to us all. Special thanks to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation for making this work possible.
We had a great day on the Science Barge and on the banks of the Saw Mill River behind Richter Park with our amazing volunteers from Regeneron. We look forward to their Day For Doing Good every year and it never disappoints! Thanks to @volunteernewyork for making this all happen!
🚗 No Idling!
Let’s do our part to keep our air clean and breathable for everyone. Did you know that just 10 minutes of idling burns up to a tenth of a gallon of fuel and adds unnecessary pollution? 🌍
