Adriane and I built GrowthAssistant into a $20M business over 4 years. If it all disappeared tomorrow, here’s exactly how I’d do it to reach 8-figures in 18 months:
1. Sell before I build
First, some context: GrowthAssistant places elite marketing talent from the Philippines in top US companies.
I would not interview a single candidate before I started selling.
Instead:
↳ I’d reach out to every marketing director in my network
↳ Try to sell 1 role in the first month
1. Ecosystem marketing
After we had 5 clients from my network, I’d get to work building an audience:
↳ Write guides based on my growth marketing experience.
↳ Share the guides as lead magnets on LinkedIn / X to grow a newsletter.
↳ Use the newsletter to highlight talent available to hire on my platform.
1. Hire a GA
My Growth Assistant would:
↳ Scan my newsletter readers for prospects I could pitch
↳ Handle inbound, connections, and follow-ups
↳ Manage content calendar, drafting posts, and running engagement
Global talent is a force multiplier.
1. Expand the playbook (and first US hire}
The No. 1 sign of PMF for a b2b business is net dollar retention.
That is, are existing clients buying more over time or less?
Once I have $1M of ARR, I’d hire a US-based Account Manager to:
↳ Fly out to meet ALL clients and start building personal relationships.
↳ Start building account research and expansion playbooks.
5. Start with AI
AI today feels like Facebook Ads when I was starting Ampush in 2010.
I would integrate it into every part of a new biz:
↳ Every role, playbook, and process at GA would be AI-first.
↳ Train all our talent in AI systems for their role before placement.
You only need 3 things to get to $10M ARR:
• A problem you can solve.
• Tailwinds (like AI) you can use to your advantage.
• Global talent to multiply leverage.
We just placed 5 digital marketing Growth Assistants to work for a top marketing agency.
They will run ads, content, and analytics for a fraction of the cost of US FTEs.
In 4 years, we’ve placed 1000 Growth Assistants with brands like DoorDash, Spotify, Reddit, and hundreds of others.
