I think calling it marketing undermines what’s actually happening.
Doechii has been getting attention for her *performances* and *execution*
Many artists do the media circuit she’s doing now, but she’s not simply checking the box, she’s maximizing every opportunity with intention and incredible effort.
The ARTISTRY has earned her attention, not marketing or opportunities themselves. And I think that distinction is important.

this is a BIG lesson for artists. Some people feel like Doechii is being "forced" on you. No, Doechii is being marketed CONSISTENTLY by a team who believes in the product. As some idiots online love to point out she sold 11k first week. But since then she has KEPT pushing the art

To be honest with you all the amount of time that was given to actually rehearse tiny desk was VERY short because we still was on tour and we did that last day of tour and shot the whole performance in ONE TAKE. 🤭
