Charlie's first game at U9s this morning (and my first game managing a team of U9s that 2 players aside have never played a match before) then tomorrow, his first U8 game as well.

Honestly, this England team is so mediocre it's frightening. International football is weird because very few sides are actually teams but this is by some distance the most middling squad I've seen. Some nice, tidy players but just so Europa League.

Xabi Alonso is one of the very few players to ever play for a rival that I still had the highest of opinions of. Criminally underrated and yet still highly rated. The sort of player that you just don't see enough of, could control every phase of play.
