Body camera footage released by New York's Attorney General shows correctional officers brutally beating 43-year-old Robert Brooks while he was handcuffed on a prison infirmary bed. Brooks died the next day.

The officers in this video are New York State correctional officers, not NYPD police. The beating of Robert Brooks occurred on Dec. 9, 2024, at a state prison. He died the next day. Involved officers were fired, charged, and several sentenced to prison.
