If you’re thinking about getting your kids their first phone, read the @NW_MoneySense advice below. And keep their experience a safe and fun one.

ALT Keep an eye on what apps and sites they're using and to avoid unexpected charges make sure all in-app purchases need your authorisation.
ALT Encourage your kids to only use their apps in safe communal family spaces. Remember, certain devices allow you to place time limits on apps or to lockout apps after your kids' bedtime.
ALT Some apps may expose your kids to inappropriate subjects. But apps like YouTube have a a kids' version that only includes content suitable for kids.
ALT Scammers also target younger children, make sure your kids know to tell you if they get any strange calls and not to reveal any personal details over the phone.
