There’s a moment before everything is named.
Before stories, before labels, before anything knows what it will become.
Just movement. Just childhood in motion.

How can we better harness local resources to sustain our mission? 💡
HAART team recently participated in a coaching session on local fundraising facilitated by two coaches; Mr. Charles and Mr. John from KCDF through the Change the Game Academy sponsored by Misereor.
Trafficking often hides behind promises that seem too good to be true.
Before accepting a job offer or travelling, ask questions and verify the details.
Stay alert & safe.

Trauma doesn’t always show up immediately. For many survivors of trafficking, painful experiences can resurface weeks, months, or years later. This is known as a delayed trauma response.
Healing is not linear, and survivors may need support long after exploitation ends.
Behind every headline is a human story.
On 28th May, HAART trained media practitioners on ethical reporting of human trafficking, covering trafficking trends, survivor-centred reporting, trauma-informed interviewing, and the difference between trafficking and smuggling.
A powerful reminder from Diana, a member of HAART's Survivor Advisory Board: dignity, informed consent, and survivor well-being must come before the story.
"Behind every human interest story, there is a human who should be protected."

What happens when a survivor finally finds a safe place to rest, heal, and begin again?
This week, HAART had the privilege of sharing our Best Practice Manual for Shelters with the incredible team at @TrustUbani.

This is a collaboration grounded in one shared goal: protecting and restoring dignity for survivors.
Partnerships like these remind us that ending exploitation takes all of us. 🤝

True sustainability goes beyond rescue, it’s about restoring dignity and livelihoods.
HAART Kenya conducted a 3-day economic empowerment training for 40 survivors rescued from scam compounds in Myanmar and repatriated in 2025.
After receiving psychosocial support, survivors are now gaining practical business skills to help them rebuild their futures and reduce vulnerability to re-trafficking.

In a shifting donor landscape, sustainability means looking inward. We’re not just seeking funding—we’re building a movement rooted in local resources, expertise, and partnerships.
Strengthening local giving makes our impact more resilient and community-led.
HAART is glad to join a localized fundraising training by Misereor, facilitated by KCDF under the Change the Game Academy.
Grateful for the insights as we step into this new chapter.
