Dr. Stuart Altman made immeasurable contributions to health policy in Massachusetts and across the country. We are deeply grateful for his decades of leadership and vision, and especially his tenure as the inaugural chair of the MA Health Policy Commission. He will be missed.

Primary care is essential! Unfortunately, spending on primary care in Massachusetts is disproportionately low. The recommendations made today by the Primary Care Access, Delivery and Payment Task Force are vitally important, and HCFA enthusiastically supports them.
The Massachusetts Primary Care Task Force calls for a primary care spending target. This bold action will address systemic underinvestment in primary care and prioritize resident health and health system stability.
