HMP Doncaster is proud to recognise #NoSmokingDay. Four years ago, all @SercoGroup prisons became smoke free sites for prisoners, staff and visitors in an effort to promote better health and cut down on the harm caused by first and second-hand smoking.

One of the charities that we work with is the @Shannon_Trust which helps prisoners learn to read. Reading and writing are vital to help prisoners get the education and skills they need to make positive changes to their lives. #SercoAndProud

Today a group of 4 prisoners and 3 PE staff completed a 33-mile charity triathlon consisting of a 30-mile bike ride, a 2-mile run and a 1-mile row, all on exercise machines. This was done in remembrance of a prisoner’s cousin who sadly passed away from cancer at the age of 33. /1

Our Veterans in Custody Co-ordinator at HMP Doncaster was given a Pulse Award for his care and support which radically changed the life of a man recently released from prison, enabling him to rebuild a relationship with his family. /2
