A reflection on state:
I saw Andy Derks tear up at the very moment he realized his team won.
I saw Jason Crowe looking gutted, having watched his top runner heroically crawl to the finish.
I gave both guys hugs. I knew EXACTLY how they each felt.
Such is sport. Such is life.

Congratulations to Henry Gamson on his performance in the IHSA 3A State Cross Country Meet. He ran a personal best 15:05.80 for 84th place. His time is 18th all-time for Highland Park at Detweiller Park. It is also 12th fastest HP time ever run at the State Meet. @HPHS_Athletics
