In August, 100 ejections were reported to the NCHSAA. That is a 35% increase from 2024-25.
"The number of ejections we have already seen this school year is far too high," NCHSAA Commissioner Que Tucker said in a statement to HighSchoolOT.
Profanity/racial slurs and fighting have been the two biggest reasons behind the 100 ejections. In the first week of the football season, there were 23 ejections. 11 were for fighting, and nine were for profanity (including racial slurs). There were no ejections in cross country, girls tennis, volleyball, or girls golf.
