Here is my proposal for a US High Speed Rail Network! A lot of research went into this map, and I tried to be as unbiased as possible. Thoughts?

Those are American style well cars. Again, don’t let American railroaders tell you that our railroads can’t be electrified, they just don’t want to invest in future growth. It’s time for a crash program to electrify our country’s highest volume mainlines.

Just to be clear, the second generation of TGV went into operation 30 years ago.
TGV Atlantique : la gĂ©nĂ©ration qui a fait grandir le TGV 🚄 En 1989, la SNCF met en service les premiĂšres rames de la deuxiĂšme gĂ©nĂ©ration de TGV : les Atlantique. Contrairement aux Sud-Est de la premiĂšre gĂ©nĂ©ration, ces 105 trains construits par Alstom entre 1988 et 1992 sont plus longs (237,5 m) et composĂ©s de deux motrices encadrant dix voitures au lieu de huit, offrant ainsi 485 places au lieu d’environ 400. LGV Est EuropĂ©enne : le chantier qui a changĂ© l’Est de la France ! 🚄 Dans les annĂ©es 2000, la France s’est lancĂ©e dans un projet fou : relier Paris Ă  Strasbourg en grande vitesse. La premiĂšre phase ouvre en juin 2007 : 300 km de ligne toute neuve, et le trajet Paris-Strasbourg passe de 4h Ă  seulement 2h20. La seconde phase suit en 2016, avec le percement du tunnel de Saverne sous les Vosges. Entre relief accidentĂ©, sols trĂšs variĂ©s et 64 millions de mĂštres cubes de terre dĂ©placĂ©s, les dĂ©fis Ă©taient Ă©normes. Pourtant, la ligne est conçue pour filer Ă  350 km/h (on roule Ă  320). C’est d’ailleurs ici que le TGV V150 a pulvĂ©risĂ© le record du monde Ă  574,8 km/h en 2007 ! GrĂące Ă  cette LGV, la Champagne, la Lorraine et l’Alsace respirent enfin. Plus d’attractivitĂ©, plus d’échanges avec l’Allemagne et la Suisse, et beaucoup moins d’avion. JR East is preparing to launch its new overnight limited express train “Luna Azul” at the start of fiscal 2027. 🌙🚆 The name means “blue moon” in Spanish, tying into the train’s blue design concept and premium private-room experience. From spring to autumn, Luna Azul will run overnight between Shinagawa and Aomori. In winter, as a daytime service between Shinagawa and Naganohara-Kusatsuguchi. Look at this beauty of Indian Railways! One double-stack container train can replace around 200 trucks on the road. Cheaper, cleaner, and far more efficient.
