Exit on U.S. side of cross-border tunnel announced today by U.S. Attorney's Office and partners. The subterranean passageway, stretching from Tijuana, Mexico to the purported retail store near the Otay Mesa Port of Entry known as “Buy 4 Less,” is estimated to be about 1,933 feet long, 55 feet deep and 4.5-feet in height, with reinforced walls, rail and ventilation systems and electricity.

MAJOR BLOW TO TRANSNATIONAL CRIMINAL ORGANIZATION
The Homeland Security Task Force (HSTF) San Juan has delivered a significant blow, disrupting a violent transnational criminal organization operating in Puerto Rico, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, and the continental United States. As of today, our efforts have resulted in:
42 members indicted
Over 1,200 kilograms of cocaine seized
$8 million in assets seized
Multiple violent offenders and TCO leaders brought to justice
This ongoing investigation has uncovered major drug trafficking, money laundering, and violent criminal activity, including charges tied to multiple homicides in Puerto Rico. Among these charges is a Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act charge, underscoring the organized nature and severity of these crimes. This marks a critical step in HSTF’s efforts to dismantle these organizations and hold their members accountable under federal law.
