ALT Poster with images and text showing term term opening hours which start on Monday 16th September. Opening hours are 8am to 10pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm Saturday and 10am to 6pm Sunday. Weekend opening starts 21st and 22nd September.

ALT You said you loved the services we provide including access to journals, late opening hours, keeping the noise down during the day, printing services, renewing books and new desks upstairs. In our response we said the purpose of these services is to support your studies so we are glad you love them!

ALT You said that you loved the library staff as we are helpful, lovely, caring, friendly, amazing and welcoming. You also said that you felt you could ask us anything without feeling silly. All of these comments were lovely to hear. Our student workers, Jamie, Dave and Calvin also got their own shoutouts!

ALT You said you loved the building and the atmosphere. Our response was that we love the building too and we love the fact that you feel the library is a safe and calm place to study.

ALT You said you love our promotions. Our response was that we try to support different events and awareness days and that giveaways are one way we do this. Look out for more in the future!

ALT Suggestion of topping up print credits online. Response that we are looking into the logistics of this with IT and will update students when we have more news.

ALT Suggestion of students being quiet in the library. Response that we monitor this hourly when we do our headcounts and have posters displayed to remind students as well as recent social media content. We also noted that noise from the study pods can cause an issue. We have looked into either moving them or having them soundproofed, but the cost is prohibitive.

ALT Suggestion of a nap zone. Response that this is not going to be possible due to lack of space. Perhaps it could be suggested to SU? Reminder that we do have blankets if students fancy a nap! We noticed that some of the notes asking for a nap zone were written in the same handwriting!

ALT Suggestion for a check-in system for the downstairs bookable study desks. Our response states we have polled students on this and are planning a trial over the summer.

ALT Suggestion of buying books for professional services teams. Response that we are happy to do this either from the library budget (with books to be kept in the library) or from departmental budgets (with books to be shelved within departments). ALT Suggestion of more social media content about the library services. Response that we have added this to our social media plan.

ALT Poster with suggestion of more natural light in the library with the response of not being able to add new windows due to the listed building status but the team will discuss with FAB the possibility of having natural light bulbs in some areas.

ALT Suggestion of using the library space for events such as mindfulness and storytelling. Response from the team stating that this sounds lovely and we are always interested to hear ideas like this. However, we would need to be mindful of not disturbing the students with their studies.

ALT Suggestion of more study desks. Response explaining that 12 new study desks were installed upstairs acting on feedback from students last year. The team are always thinking of ways to create additional space and would welcome any suggestions for how to do this.
