If you want to blame anyone, blame @Gannett and its corporate greed. They don't value local news or care about their local communities, but the reporters at the H-T do. They're doing the absolute best they can to serve you, and I hope you'll continue to follow their amazing work.

13,000 children are already in the foster care system in Indiana.
With the overturn of Roe v. Wade and restrictive abortion legislation up for Indiana's special session, some fear more children may end up in the system.

Important story. It is confusing that state law requires the district to advertise this as a 35% rate increase when in fact the increase is less than 15% in the district rate and less than 5% in the overall local tax rate.
