After 14 weeks of learning, hacking, building, presenting projects, and live challenges, we’re celebrating the first graduates of the HackingAPIswithDami API Security Series. 🎓
The future of API & AI security is in good hands.
Just completed the 14-week @HackingAPIWDami program. We covered:
# REST API pen testing & OWASP API Top 10: Not just theory, actual hands-on labs exploiting the vulnerabilities that break real production APIs every day.
# Auth attacks: OAuth 2.0, JWT, and API keys.
# DevSecOps: shifting security left into CI/CD pipelines, automated scanning, and compliance for APIs.
I'm really grateful to HAWD for building a program this thorough. API security finally clicked for me here and that's not something I say lightly.

Good work from everyone involved.
Huge thanks to our judges @Tech_Toria@Nerdy_genii for the time, feedback, and thoughtful evaluation.

Over the weekend our students held their first Project Presentation, breaking down OpenVault Bank by @apisecu API exploits.
Big thanks to Abdulrahman Oyekunle @Nerdy_genii who joined in as our judge and shared impactful feedback that pushed our hackers to think deeper.
If you work in development, DevOps, or security and haven't thought deeply about API security, now is the time. APIs are everywhere, and so are the vulnerabilities hiding inside them.

Finally, documentation is not a post-launch task. It's not something you hand off to a technical writer at the end of a sprint. It's a core part of your product, and it deserves the same attention, iteration, and care as the API itself.
@HackingAPIWDami#API
I’ve been locked in with @HackingAPIWDami since last month.
APIs are like an entirely new language to me but I’m slowly getting the hang of it.
Now, let me quickly explain APIs with a simple analogy.
Imagine this:
You walk into a restaurant. You’re hungry. You don’t barge into the kitchen (obviously). Instead you tell a waiter what you want. The waiter tells the kitchen, the chef cooks it and the waiter brings it back to you.
Now the waiter? That’s your API (Application Programming Interface)
In simpler terms, an API is more like a medium through which apps communicate with each other.
Anticipate a video walkthrough from me soon though.
