๐ JUST IN: Cyber attack at Jamaica Stock Exchange
The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) is reporting that the personal information of some clients have have been accessed by hackers. According to the JSE, the cyber incident happened recently and has now been contained.
โซ๏ธPersonal information involved:
(i) Full name
(ii) Residential and/or mailing address
(iii) Email address and telephone number
(iv) Date of birth
(v) Government-issued identification number (e.g. TRN and passport number)
(vi) Account number or client reference.
โซ๏ธThe JSE says so far, there is no evidence that the incident affected trading or settlement platforms, customer login credentials or core transactional systems.
โซ๏ธThe stock exchange says it is cooperating with investigators and the authorities. At the same time, it is directly directly contacting affected individuals with specific guidance. the JSE says it will never ask for passwords, PINs or one-time codes by email or telephone.
