All welcome (under 18s need to bring an adult)
ooops sent this in Nov with an Oct title
mailchi.mp/cef068392fad/park…
But, why not read it & then come outdoors & join us for the last volunteer session of 2024 - bulb planting, 3 Nov, 10am-1pm
Unbelievable amount of food being put on park - piles of greasy chips, peas, baked beans, peas, potatoes etc. - enough for at least four people. Dog walkers are picking it up & binning it each day. Its not suitable for wildlife either with salt etc on it & adding to rat issues
There's so much of it wasted every time it breaks your heart also that some people who really need food could benefit from it & would love a cooked meal
Its not legal! Plus wildlife needs it too! 'Dead' wood is the perfect home to many rare invertebrates and fungi, nesting birds such as owls & woodpeckers, & bat species that live in cracks & fissures. Nutrients will also go back into the soil as it decays bit.ly/3NcpqIU
Why not join us for a hay rake from 10 this morning. All welcome. Do as much or as little as you can - we'd love to see you. It's also the right weather for it as not too hot
Join us for our Hailey Park volunteer session: Sun 18 August, 1–4pm. Meet Radyr Rd car park. Text 07836532258 if you come later on. Great way to help environment, keep fit & a fun thing to do. All welcome
Fun, informal, relaxed, shared, nature based play for children and families on Hailey Park this coming Monday morning with FoHP.
Bring a magnifier if you have one 🔍🔎
No cost its free.
Children need to be accompanied by an adult.👫👬👭
Along the back of Hazelhurst Road backing on to park there are lots of foxtails. Plus check over your dogs if you walk that way as they can easily work their way into your dog
Many thanks to everyone who came to today's volunteer session on the park. It was a very muggy but enjoyable afternoon cutting back vegetation along the Taff Trail. It was clearly flying ant day too by the amount of birds in the air at once
Its that time of month again for volunteers on park this Sun 28/07, 1pm on. We will be cutting back vegetation overhanging some of paths through park so quite an easy task. Meet: Radyr Road car park. All welcome (under 18s need to bring an adult). Why not join us
