Hitler killed himself and Germany surrendered. Japan got nuked. Do they teach history in Ohio?
JD Vance: If you go back to WW2 or every major conflict in human history, they all ended with some kind of negotiation.
Community note
World War II ended with unconditional surrenders by Germany on May 8, 1945, and Japan on September 2, 1945, rather than negotiation. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unconditi… archives.gov/milestone-docu… nationalww2museum.org/war/topics/end…

I'm ... genuinely happy for New York fans? Must remember to make a neurology appointment next week.

Daughter back from Peru. Next time, I'm cutting off her international plan. She had a great time -- saw Machu Picchu, drank pisco sours, rode horses. But you wouldn't know it from the six million texts to her mom worrying about everything.

Not surprisingly, Rand is lying. They are not charged with smuggling pathogens since the viruses were inactivated. The worst they did was not have a piece of paperwork filled out.
For years, these two NIH scientists allegedly smuggled monkeypox from the Republic of Congo, lying to investigators about what they did. To make matters even worse, they spent years skirting the rules for transporting dangerous pathogens.

Today in Both Things Can Be true: 1) SpaceX is an incredible company (mostly despite Elon) that has massively cut the cost of putting things into space and produced the most successful rocket of all time, the Falcon 9. 2) This IPO is WAAAAY overvalued.

Those of you who don't work in the space sector may not grasp how much the game has changed in the last 15 years. It is revolutionary how cheap launches (and spacecraft buses) have gotten. We can put up satellites, telescopes and service vehicles at a fraction of the pre-X cost.

Or ... they could create a business worth that much (which I don't think SpaceX is). You can dislike him all you want, but he's making money by building things.
Elon Musk just became the world's first trillionaire. The typical American household would have to work more than 11 MILLION years to make Elon Musk's level of wealth. We need a wealth tax.

Kilmeade to an agreeing Markwayne Mullin: "In Belfast they're standing up because their leaders have let them down. They're trying to take their country back. They want to label them as racist. All they want to be is Irish. They want Ireland back. And that is what we've been saying for the longest time. I see a lot of the same fights here."

Oh, you mean the 17th time he threatened more strikes, he called them off, citing a non-existent agreement? Shocker.

This is nothing like Venezuela and the president's repetative threats are starting to sound desperate for a deal because he is desperate for a deal. The Kharg Island threat especially. Sure we can take it, but at what cost-especially to hold it-for what gain? Self-made hot mess
President Trump previews that the U.S. will strike Iran again tonight and says seizing Kharg Island and taking control of Iran’s oil and gas markets is in the future.

Oil futures are saying TACO. Let's hope they're right. This would be a mess and a half. And whatever happened to the War Powers?
"The United States will be hitting Iran (Whose Navy, Air Force, Radar, Anti Aircraft, and all other forms of Defense, together with most of its offensive capability, are GONE!), VERY HARD TONIGHT..." - President Donald J. Trump

Even assuming this is true, which is a big assumption, that's five days worth of normal traffic moved at enormous expense to the US taxpayer. Even when he "wins", he's losing.

Like the Olympics, everything around the World Cup is hot garbage. And like the Olympics, the event itself, the athletes and the fans are amazing.

There is no way to get there without cutting defense spending, cutting entitlements or raising taxes. And you guys want to do the opposite on all three.
.@SecScottBessent is right. We have a spending problem. I appreciate his hard work with @POTUS to get us back to a 3% deficit and pay down the debt so Americans can stop facing inflation and high costs. To make this happen, Congress HAS to do its job.
