I know it’s a funny video but you can clearly see that she’s uncomfortable about the situation, pathetic stuff
My goat is about to explain himself when he gets home. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

There’s a huge gap between the first and second line of defence of Netherlands. Japan can play out to in diagonal balls and make sure the number 10s exploit those gaps. Netherlands is being way too defensive as their full backs are not pushing high up, Reijnders and Gravenberch as number 10s doesn’t work very well either, need more intensity and faster wide combinations

Netherlands need to figure out how they’ll create the triangles on the wings with high FBs and midfielders in the half spaces AND also have a proper rest defence to stop Japanese transitions. Both Netherlands and Japan should be quite press resistant as Netherlands have FDJ Gravenberch to build out from the back and Japan can manipulate space really well and drop their number 10 out wide like Pep used to do with KDB and build up. However, Netherlands will put a lot of crosses in the box, so expect inside to outside diagonal balls towards the wingers during build up then crosses inside the box.

This Germany team is not only set up but also plays extremely similar to Xabi Alonso's Leverkusen. The biggest difference is that Alonso's Leverkusen was quite intense in closing down the opponent, the moment they lost the ball, this German team isn't.

It looks like Kimmich has been instructed to push high up in the second half to counter this
Replying to @rajsinghchohan
The RW is always getting into 2v1 situations and Sane is mostly failing to retain possession

Germany will get lots of chances today to play line breaking passes from the deep, they just need runners behind the defence

"Need to earn their place, top of the food chain"
Their clubs next season Michael Olise: Bayern Désiré Doué: PSG João Neves: PSG Vitinha: PSG You’ve given your place at the top of the food chain away. Now you have to earn it back.

Germany will also build up with a back 3 like Brazil and in front of the back 3 will be a lone 6, probably Kimmich and the 8 will probably be in a more attacking position. But unlike Brazil , notice how they’ll keep possession and open up spaces through fluid movements

While with 48 teams, more countries are getting to taste the fun of World Cup, as a neutral supporter, I miss the “group of death” which has become quite rarer now.

Morocco looked very well drilled with their high intensity press, midblock and quick counter but they lack creativity in attack. There’s almost zero threat in the final 3rd if their full backs don’t play well. If the face any team that sits back with a compact block or a team that has good wingers who consistently look for 1v1, Morocco will struggle.

This Brazil team lacks crucial pieces. ❌ They overload the left but nobody good enough on the right to hold width. ❌ Not a single midfielder who can help during build up but multiple players up front are ready to make runs. ❌ Full backs are struggling to balance attack and defence.

After watching that Paqueta performance, I guess replacing Paqueta with Raphinha and bringing Henriquez on the RW is the better option but the formation remains the same as I had suggested with Cunha
Brazil will have a better chance and retain the ball well if they keep Raphinha on the RW instead of using him to overload the LW. Bring on Cunha, let him drop on the left side, make Paqueta stay as LCM, push Guimaraes up to support Raphinha on the right

This Lucas Paqueta performance might be worse than Sithole

Brazil is switching Raphinha on the left to overload that side and help Vini get 1v1 with Hakimi as Raphinha is in the half space keeping the Moroccan RCB busy

Morocco will also sit deep and try to counter. Hence it’s even more essential that Brazil doesn’t commit too much in their attacks or high intensity press and have a solid rest defense
To defeat Morocco, Brazil needs to make sure - ⚽️ Their rest defense is solid. I don’t think it’ll be a good idea to send both full backs high up. Sitting in a mid block and countering might be beneficial. ⚽️ Make sure Vinicius and Raphinha get into 1v1 positions. Hakimi and Brahim will be Morocco’s biggest attacking threat, so Vini needs to be at his best to keep Hakimi busy with defensive duties. ⚽️ Ideally Brazil should look to overload the left to get Raphinha 1v1 and switch to him, this will nullify the chances of Hakimi getting the ball in case Brazil lose possession and face a direct counter attack.

The reason why USA was able to play so many passes beyond the Paraguayan last line of defense was because of the high line of Paraguay with literally 0 pressure on the player who has the ball. In this screenshot, while Balogun is making a run beyond the defense, there is no pressure on Tillman who is on the ball and plays an easy pass to Balogun
