In a place isolated from the rest of the world, obtaining a share of drinking water has become the greatest luxury available. Children and parents wait for hours in long lines just to secure a small amount of water, barely enough for a single day. Each of them feels abandoned by the world, knowing that they are fortunate if they can get a few sips of water to keep them alive for another day. Here, many feel as though they are no longer treated as human beings. Even animals would struggle to survive under such harsh conditions. Despite our limited resources and the severe shortages we face, we continue to provide drinking water to these displaced families. Yet we may not be able to continue this humanitarian effort much longer, and this could be the last time we are able to extend a helping hand to these devastated people.
