Using social justice theory and vulnerability theory, we found that households in Scotland face unequal barriers and burdens to afford and access safe drinking water.🥤
We concluded that the water poverty definition used in the UK is inadequate for capturing the lived experience of struggling households and obscures the perpetuation of water injustice.
Our @echcharity#Haven in #Tranent is just 4wks old & hosted 100 visits. Is it working? Feedback from children & families says it is - "It's the first time in a long time I feel some relief", "I feel like a weight has been lifted", "I felt stressed, now I feel normal"
We’re looking for research participants for our study on emotional responses to the climate crisis and the associated water challenges. Please consider signing up! shorturl.at/pvDEJ
Looking forward to hearing ESHH's very own @Handerson107 (and @StirBES colleagues) presenting at @StirUni@IAS_Stir Festival of Research session on Improving #Resilience and Finding Solutions to #conflict in an era of unprecedented change
The ‘Environmental Justice and Time’ workshop at @StirUni has just concluded. Two days of insightful perspectives from different scholars and researchers belonging to various disciplines and universities.
Delighted to be running this workshop again after a successful first try last year as part of @SocSciScotland@sgsah Spring into Methods programme:
Bridging the Divide: using participatory methods for interdisciplinary research
9th and 10th May @StirUnisocial.sgsss.ac.uk/event/spr…

'My IVF journey is just one example of how life doesn’t stop when you start a PhD'
This should be shared far and wide in academic circles #fertility#academia#phd
My second round of IVF (back-to-back) has failed with extreme immune protocols. There needs to be more support for those going through fertility treatment in the workplace 🥺 It’s so hard to go through. I’m doing an MA in HE & will be doing an auto-ethnography of my experiences.
Take a look at #HistSciClinicReads for an idea of what last year's workshop looked like...
