A lot of people forget what the Washington Capitals looked like before finally breaking through in 2018.
Years of playoff heartbreak. Early exits. Constant criticism.
The Oilers are still chasing that moment.
OilersNow today
Stauffer - Maybe there is a goalie out there will 3 years AHL experience who doesn't need to clear waivers.
Goalies who fit that build
-Greaves
-Wallstedt
-Cossa (Most likely)
Reading between the lines on OilersNow today.
-Ingram 2×2M
-Murphy 3X3.5-4M
-Dickinson will have offers of 3.75M
McDavid and Drai possibly on same line? (I think it will depend on new coach)
Honestly this team looked like they needed the year off. Rest and recover this summer. Make a few moves, finally bring in the goalie we need, and bring it home in June 2027.
Its been awhile since I was this pessimistic about an Oilers playoff game. I almost forget there is a chance they could actually win.
Regardless I will cheer until the end.
Around this date the last 2 years Oilers have found themselves down in a series. Where many people were counting them out.
Just goes to show how much things can flip in a day. Sure there are some issues, but this team has the ability to turn things around.
Oilers playing it safe with Drai. Here are the scenarios I see for his return.
-Sit out for rnd 1 if Oilers can win 2-3 out of first 3 games.
-Play game 3 if Oilers are down 2-0.
-Return game 4 if down 2-1.
Hopefully the Oilers have a good start and give Drai more rest.
This is how I see the NHL race unfolding for the Pacific.
