I have honestly wrote and deleted so many posts today, trying to figure out what I could possibly even say. A father is dead, leaving behind children and a wife who will live the rest of their lives deprived of such an important part of their existence.
I’m angry and disgusted. This isn’t the America we were promised. The moment your life becomes endangered just for engaging in open discourse is the moment we’ve lost our humanity. We’ve devolved into animals, straying further and further from what we know to be right.
Regardless of what you think about Charlie’s opinions, he was simply exercising his right to free speech and was slaughtered for it. That is a fact.
In this critical moment in modern American history, many would push for extreme reactions and calls for additional violence towards one side or another, but I urge you to seek unity in this sobering moment.
A man, a father, an American is dead. We must not let this happen again. Rest in peace
