New: A source familiar with the situation tells me that there are “several investigations” ongoing relating to Gov. Gavin Newsom — I’m told they are focused on his wife’s taxes his chief of staff. They did not originate from the main DOJ, but are out of Sacramento and involve whistleblowers, per source.
DOJ is declining to comment.

.@VP Vance was measured, thoughtful, and clear on @CBS this morning as he laid out President Trump's vision and the latest on the proposed agreement with Iran. He has been deeply involved in helping bring these talks to this point.
There is still plenty of technical work ahead and no one should pretend otherwise, but the progress made so far is significant.
This is a major achievement for the administration and a positive step for the world.

Following intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the Peace Deal between the United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran has been REACHED. Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon.
The official signing ceremony will be on Friday, 19 June in Switzerland.
We would like to thank the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran for their commitment to finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to our brothers in this mediation effort, the great leadership of State of Qatar, for their support in reaching this agreement. I would also especially thank the visionary leadership of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Republic of Türkiye for their immense contributions in this regard.
With the agreement now in place, mediators will facilitate a series of meetings this week. These pre-implementation discussions will lay the foundation for the technical talks and the official signing ceremony.

Had a chance to discuss this with @CBSNews yesterday. If we truly care about protecting democracy and restoring trust in our elections, it should not take weeks to count ballots.
California’s delays fuel skepticism and distrust.
Maybe Gov. Newsom should give Gov. DeSantis a call and ask how it’s done.
A close friend of mine is cancelling his voter registration today. He is convinced Spencer Pratt was robbed of the election. I explained to him that in California we count absentees first (which skew older and more conservative) and election day voters are younger and more Democratic. The slow count is largely because of policies to maximize participation, including postmarking a ballot on Election Day.
Regardless, we need to figure out in California how we can get the vote counted faster and results tabulated so it does not drag on. We should make the investments in operational improvements and resources in the wealthiest state in the nation. It is worth spending the resources to get the vast majority of the vote counted within 48 hours. Right now the system is eroding trust and spawning conspiracy theories.
