I rarely make posts like this, but this situation has left me both frustrated and deeply concerned. This artist scammed me out of $490 USD. To explain what happened: I commissioned them in September of last year. The artwork reached roughly 70% completion before they suddenly disappeared without any warning. I repeatedly tried to contact them to ask what had happened, but received no response whatsoever. For approximately six months, from around January of this year until now, I heard absolutely nothing. I originally gave them until May to resolve the situation. During that time, I continued checking their activity and noticed that their X account was also inactive, which led me to believe that perhaps they were dealing with personal issues or some kind of emergency. However, after May passed, they recently became active again and started posting updates. At that point, I gradually realized that they had likely not been absent due to any serious emergency. What makes this situation worse is that I had already paid the full commission amount in advance through installment payments before the artwork was completed. They simply disappeared with my money and provided no communication, no explanation, and no updates. No matter how many times I attempted to reach out, I received no response. I would like to use this opportunity to warn others: unless you are dealing with an artist you know and trust very well, please be cautious about paying the full amount upfront for a first-time commission. Art commissions are unfortunately one of the easiest areas for scams to occur, and I would not be making this post if I felt I had any other reasonable option. Below, I will provide screenshots of our conversations, proof of payment, and images of the unfinished commission. I also strongly advise others not to commission this artist. At this point, this public warning is the only action I feel able to take. I currently do not intend to pursue legal action or seek legal assistance. Until this commission is completed or otherwise properly resolved, I will not delete this post. @LustyGus
