Something good in the doom scroll: My parents had their 53rd anniversary this week. My Mom has Alzheimer's, she's still her, but she's losing pieces of herself bit by bit. My Dad has scoured the internet for "their song" for years. 1/4
He knew the name but didn't remember the singer. We have found many songs with the title but none were it. He emailed me a month ago that he had found the album online and could I help him get it. Of course I did. We also got it converted to CD so they could play it. 3/4
He gave her the album and played the CD on their anniversary on Wednesday. She remembered it, she was singing it even before the CD was played! The song is called The Wishing Tree by Lynn Jones, citizenfreak.com/titles/2851β¦. It's so them. Happy anniversary Mom and Dad. 4/4

ALT A quote from Ontario College of Family Physicians President Dr. Mekalai Kumanan: Family doctors play an important role as the foundation of the healthcare system. With 161,000 patient visits every day in Ontario, family doctors see more patients than any other healthcare professional.
Reminder that what happened at Laurentian was NOT about programs being too expensive or too many faculty or low enrollments or not enough budget cuts. It was about mismanagement and lack of transparency by senior admin and the board of governors. π§΅

New research shows that 360,000 kids across Ontario, including 48,628 under age 5, do not have a family doctor. Without access to primary care, kids can miss out on important care in the early years of life. theglobeandmail.com/opinion/β¦ @TaliBogler @DrKateJMiller #LifeWithoutADoctor
We can solve the housing affordability crisis without paving over the wetlands and green space that cleans our drinking water and protects us from flooding or the farmland that feeds us & contributes so much to our economy. #onpoli#HandsOffTheGreenbelt
