I understand Arthur Rinderknech is a very underrated player, with a game style that can thrive on grass and has the ability to compete with the very best in the world on his day but the French man struggles largely with consistency issues.
Also, he was given a very bad matchup against Adrian Mannarino in Hertogenbosch so itโs hard to tell what level he will turn up to this one at but what we do know is Hamad Medjedovic is having the best season of his young career so far this year, he is currently on a 20-9 run and shown the ability to compete on all types of surfaces and his gas tank is getting better.
Also, he has the game that can translate to success on grass, huge serve, can hit winners off both wings, razor thin drop shots and the raw power to end rallies. So when I weigh that up with the fact he is having the best season of his career I like him to continue that form onto grass and beat the inconsistent frenchman.
Rinderknech made the quarter finals here last year, which is a big reason hes the favourite and brings motivation to the table for him but that run wasnโt too impressive now its aged, he beat Ben Shelton, who we saw is not comfortable on grass and was even worse last year, Johannus Monday, Moutet and Opelkaโฆ so he beat two serve bots, a very weak counterpuncher and a qualifier before losing to Alcaraz in straight sets.
Donโt get me wrong, Arthur Rinderknech is dangerous on grass and has the tools and experience to win this match but like I said consistency is a really big issue with him, iโm siding with the momentum on Hamad Medjedovic here
