Today is Children's Day in India and World Diabetes Day in the world. I remember back in college, one of my professor saying 'diabetes is such a huge problem that even if you get 5% of the diabetes market, you will build a huge company out of it."
And now spending years in the Industry, I know he was right. Almost every household has someone checking their sugar levels, adjusting medicines, worrying quietly.
We are the second-highest number of adults with diabetes in the world, after China. And it hurts to see how normal it has become to say “high sugar runs in the family” as if nothing can change.
But we are committed to being a part of this fight.
When we started Health Tick, we were young, out of college, confused, and stubborn enough to believe that habits & behaviours can change a country and eventually the world. I still believe that. Maybe even more now seeing the results and responses from users.
Health Tick is still growing, still learning, still dreaming. And after successful behavioural intervention in weight loss program with 86% success rate, we'll be bringing brightest minds from the world in one room to build a program for diabetes in near future.
My hope for the future is simple. If we can help even one family prevent diabetes… and then a hundred… and then a thousand… that will be huge contribution to India’s health story.
