Though the understanding is that Giannis would accept extension with Boston (as well as with Heat), Windy cautioned just now: "A lot of people are making assumptions about what the Celtics will offer. I think the Celtics are going to be be very, very cautious about making any firm offer. I will be very careful about saying anything has truly been offered.".. One big risk: If Celtics offer Brown and 3-team Giannis trade can't be agreed to, there would be risk of a potentially perturbed Brown then asking for a trade. As Bobby Marks said on ESPN just now: "You ought to be awfully careful if something does not materialize" with Brown (if he knows he was offered in a trade).

I can confirm, via Giannis associate, what Windy has been saying that Giannis "absolutely" wants to go to Heat. Excited about possibility; has been exploring life options in Miami. (Can't elaborate on that yet). BUT (and it's a big BUT), like with Lillard, it's not a case of Miami-and-absolutely nowhere else. In other words, there's NO indication that he will tell every other team that he wouldn't sign extension with any of them. There are believed to be a few other teams that he would sign an extension with, with Boston reportedly among them.

I think the Heat have basically been commissioned to try to find another team… I think you have to look at the teams the Heat have dealt with recently…. I would watch Detroit.
