Its cow time of year again! Love having the young Belted galloways from @SurreyWT. They graze our meadows and open up scrubby areas for us.

One of the most extraordinary survivals in the Colne Valley Regional Park is #StainesMoor. This ancient landscape is now hemmed in on all sides by creeping urbanisation, but it retains a unique atmosphere that gives no hint of this on the ground. Do visit colnevalleypark.org.uk/locat…

Spotted at Stockley Park! A spectacular stag beetle! Like many other species, stag beetles are in decline. You can help by letting PTES when you see one. You can record any sightings on their website stagbeetles.ptes.org #SpottedAtStockley #StockleyPark

Watched a Hummingbird Hawk-moth on the Twin Rivers today. Amazing day flying moths with a long proboscis. Fascinating to watch as it hovered over the vegetation. #moths

This is a still shot of one feeding. Not on the twin rivers sadly. Gives you a better idea of what they look like.

Invasive plants, Himalayan and Orange Balsam, on the twin rivers, Duke of Northumberland and the Longford, need to be removed each year. Not too bad in the hot weather 😊 ☀️

We watched this solitary bee making its way out of its nesting hole for what seemed an age. Eventually, it made it out before our very eyes 😊. What a privilege to witness #Bees #SolitaryBees #Nature #Insects
