This is being built in unity. But we are inventing our own custom rendering pipeline. With stencil shadows, and standard baseline material setups like the stuff you'd see in IDtech4 and other great 6/7th gen games. I hate the vaseline smeared unity defaults where everything has a nasty shiny fresnel. So we are stripping away all the gunk to make a more streamlined base.

I have been working on in place turning, so that turning in place does not result in a character's feet just floating above ground. It's looking pretty good ^^ You can also see the IK system for the character to bend their body according to where you look.
