Banks will need to start paying interests for the deposits in order to stop the runaway to money market funds. This will reduce significantly their record profits from last year. Moreover, they should recognize some loss due to drop in value of their fixed-interest rate assets.

Janet Yellen admitted to Congress that SHE and other government officials determine which banks are systemic, and which are not. Below are the entities that paid her over $7MM in “speaking fees” before her time at Treasury. Banana Republic stuff. @DoombergT

Everyone says that $SIVB failed because its large portfolio of long term government bonds, but that's not the problem. The true problem is that its assets were mainly fixed interest-rate assets.

The other main problem that $SIVB had was its deposit exposure to the startup ecosystem, a bubble that bursted. Startups are burning deposits, as funding rounds become less frequent.

The third issue is current regulation, which I hope changes after this situation. There shouldn't be differences in the valuation methods of assets for trading and those held to maturity. They all should be valued to market

This why I think flatexDEGIRO is a good investment. I think the market overreacted to the Bafin warning and it's trading at an PER 9. It has a great product. It can benefit a little from higher interest rates. It is not involved in the crypto environment

There is a lot of talk these days about the possibility of a Debt Crisis in the next years. I've analyzed it and this is what I found. Debt Sustainability is a combination of 5 factors: Current Debt Levels, Inflation, Interest Rates, Real-GDP Growth and Deficits

I don't think a Debt Crisis is impossible to avoid. Some ways of avoiding it are: - Letting inflation run high for some more years - Reduce Public Deficits I see we're opting for the first one, as Central Banks aren't increasing interest rates at levels needed to ...

achieve their 2%-inflation target. Goverments should also reduce spending to limit the risks. Also, it's worth to note that the situation is different from the financial crisis when there was a lack of banking supervision and regulation.
