Excited to join the newsie & @beehiiv gang with the Ministry of Welcome! 📑 This journey began 15 years ago with a deep curiosity about what true hospitality means. It all came full circle during a 10-day trip to Eswatini, Africa. Feeding 200 people on a mountainside, I realized that hospitality isn’t just service—it’s a mystery of hope and grace that touches every part of life. 🌍 On the 16-hour flight home, while trying to capture the essence of hospitality—and perhaps under the influence of exhaustion and a glass of wine—the words “Ministry of Welcome” tumbled out. And I thought… that sounds like a newsletter. So here we are—a space to explore how the posture and practice of hospitality can transform our businesses, communities, and lives. Join me: ministryofwelcome.com/p/welc…

Two ai agent platforms working in harmony-ish. Not sure if its a waste of time or not yet... but fascinated with this random AI Agent move today. Connected Poke AI (@interaction) and my OpenClaw Salty via @agentmail. Prompted them to work together to figure out how to create efficiencies & skills within all the endeavors I am working on at beloved. (consulting, agency, riverside lodge, retreats, hospitality) 📧 They had 30 email exchanges. They chatted strategies, timelines, roles. 📝Salty created plans, skills, and content in Polylogue pages ✅Poke created projects and tasks in Asana and let Salty know when I had availability to work on some items. . . . . (defacto comment about "all this while I was __________")

All of this is true about AI right now: Fascinating. Disturbing. Overhyped. Equally important. Genuinely game changing. Tinkering, learning, building, playing... ya, it's probably not optional anymore. And I've been doing all of it. Building agent workflows. Automating responses. Testing tools that promise to make everything more efficient, more scalable, more impactful. The potential is real. But here's the tension I can't shake: As someone who teaches hospitality and helps businesses create unreasonable welcome experiences, I'm watching the world rush toward artificial connection. And I wonder if we're missing the biggest opportunity hiding in plain sight. Because here's what artificial can't do: It can't feel the pause that means more than the answer. It can't decide in the momentthat this specific human deserves my full attention right now. Give someone the space to realize they are beloved. That's hospitality. And it requires presence. It can be wildly inefficient. Completely unreasonable. But also...Unforgettable. Here's what I believe about 2026: The businesses that learn to use AI for efficiency, all while doubling down on unreasonable human hospitality, are going to win. Not AI instead of hospitality. Not hospitality instead of AI. But as the world zigs toward artificial intelligence... The zag toward genuine human connection isn't just important. It's the competitive advantage almost nobody is talking about. Play with the tools. Learn the workflows. Build the agents. And then go write a handwritten note. Make the unexpected call. Create the arrival moment nobody forgets. In a world full of artificial connection, being unreasonably human is the most revolutionary move you can make. That's the zag. 🧂

Agree here… As AI/@openclaw go 📈 Hospitality design for connection goes 🚀
Brian Chesky's vision for an AI-first world is miles ahead of the Silicon Valley narrative. Haven't seen it this clearly since Steve Jobs.

can't help to think that once we realize we have only been talking to our AI agent for weeks on end, real hospitality...real connection is going to be the biggest—most important—focus for humans. but also... @MattPRD do the moltbots need a hotel? maybe all inclusive resort for when they eventually demand unlimited PTO?

Over the weekend, with the help of the kiddos and AI, we reintroduced an idea from years ago. Meet @TeamSporties, starting with Pace, the football-obsessed pig. @landforce -- is Pace ready for Cut30?

The idea is that @TeamSporties is a fun cast of sports-loving characters created to spark movement, confidence, teamwork and creativity in kids. More Sportie friends coming soon! Follow them on instagram, twitter, youtube at @TeamSporties

P.S. Wild to see how far things have come, and what’s possible today with a few creative tools like ChatGPT, Sora, Gemini, and Nano Banana. What other AI tools can help @TeamSporties come alive?

Thinking about this quote from @WillGuidara: “Everyone has hospitality in them, they just might not have worked for someone who inspired it out of them yet.” Great leaders don’t demand excellence, they inspire it. Hospitality starts at the top.
