To be gay in Uganda is already a crime. Now the proposed Anti-Homosexuality Bill will criminalize ‘promotion’ of homosexuality targeting activists working on LGBTI rights.
This is unacceptable!

Important step! I welcome this decision by the member states. Coming up soon: vote in the home affairs committee and then in the European Parliament’s plenary. At the latest at 1 January 2024 Kosovo will get the well deserved and long overdue visa free travel. 🇪🇺🤝🇽🇰

📢 EU countries have agreed: Kosovo* passport holders will be able to travel to the EU without a visa.
The new rules need to be adopted by the @Europarl_EN before entering into force. They will apply by 1 January 2024 at the latest.

LGBTQ Ugandan office raided and individuals arrested

Offices of Queer Youth Uganda a locally based organization that works on human rights awareness and capacity developed for gender and sexual minorities were raided yesterday by unidentified individuals. Efforts to locate those present during the raid have so far proven futile.
